Fresh out of the oven of the Ball Family Reserve come three new axes. The good news: The Cutlass has been updated with a Natural Gloss finish, while the Axis Super Sport and John Petrucci signature guitars have earned now colors in Trans Light Purple and Gold Sparkle, respectively. The bad news: Ernie Ball’s only making 136 of them.

John Petrucci Majesty Ball Family Reserve

The Majesty Gold Sparkle features a basswood body and high-end appointments. This luxurious piece comes installed with black Schaller locking tuners and a Music Man tremolo, and boasts a dark ebony fretboard decorated with Majesty inlays. Oh, and John Petrucci autographed the tremolo backplates. Unfortunately, only 77 of these will be produced.

Cutlass Natural Ball Family Reserve

The Cutlass Natural Gloss sports a rustic, natural ash body finished in a polyester clear coat. Its all-rosewood neck boasts a smooth satin finish, embellished with white position markers and binding. A black pickguard and black hardware make for a great counterpoint to the rustic vibes of this guitar. Only 47 will be produced.

Axis Super Sport Ball Family Reserve

Don’t let the eye-catching purple finish distract you from its other features. The Axis Super Sport features a figured AAAAA maple top, a mahogany body, and a bound Honduran mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard. The Axis also sports a dual humbucking confirguration, white binding and a clear polyurethane finish. Only 21 pieces will be made.
