Good news for Fender fans from our dimension: The company has released a guitar that looks as though it emerged through a portal from an alternate timeline. The Parallel Universe Strat-Tele Hybrid blends the classic good looks of a Telecaster with the features of a Stratocaster. Or, in other words, it’s an axe that’s got the best of both worlds.
The Strat-Tele Hybrid is powered by three Custom Shop ’69 Aged Strat pickups, revered for their punchy tones appropriate for blues and rock. Other Strat-styled appointments include a synchronized tremolo bridge and traditional Strat control knob configurations.
Other features of this guitar include an ash body, a maple neck, contours for playing comfort, a “Deep C” neck profile and a 9.5-inch fretboard radius.
Learn more about the intriguing guitar in the video here, which stars a blindfolded Todd Wisenbaker playing the hybrid guitar and trying to guess what it is:
The Strat-Tele Hybrid is just one of nine models in the Parallel Universe series, which was announced at Winter NAMM 2018. The remaining eight will drop over the course of this year.
The Parallel Universe Strat-Tele Hybrid lists for $1,999. For more information, check out fender.com.
