Seymour Duncan Silver Lake

Seymour Duncan has just dropped the Silver Lake Dynamic Reverb, a reverb workstation that packs in eight algorithms, plenty of tone-shaping controls, and a Dynamic Expression functionality that reacts in real-time to your playing.

The Silver Lake boasts reverb algorithms ranging from the familiar—plate, room, spring, and hall—to the more exotic, such as a gated reverb and delay-‘verb. But what really takes the cake is the stompbox’s impressive set of tone-shaping controls. Tweak the “Grit” knob to add some lo-fi gain to the wet signal, or use the “Damp” control to treat the ‘room’ and soften the reflections. The “Decay,” “Pre-Delay,” and “Tweak,” controls give you additional versatility, letting you dial in sounds from the furthest reaches of the universe.

And then there’s the Dynamic Expression functionality. This means the pedal will react to your playing: It adjusts either the “Mix,” “Modulation” or “Damping” parameter according to how hard your hit those strings. Meaning you can escalate from subtle echoes to a catastrophic tonal tsunami just by picking a little harder.

As the icing on the cake, the Silver Lake allows you to save up to 32 banks, each with four presets. And MIDI compatibility, stereo ins and outs, and USB connectivity round up the remaining features on the pedal.
